We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve won the Best Sport and Fitness Business of the Year award at the Merton Best Business Awards!

This award is a huge honour, and we’re so grateful to the organisers Merton Best Business Awards, the judges, our category sponsors Merton Council, and the incredibly strong competition in our category. Least not, the stunning venue at AFC Wimbledon.

But most importantly, we want to thank our members, coaches, staff, family and friends past and present for this award. It wouldn’t be possible without you! You’re the best.

We’re so proud to be a part of the Merton community, and we’re committed to providing our members with the best possible martial arts experience. See you soon!

EASTER OPENING HOURS

Easter bank holiday weekend update:

BJJ classes will be running as normal over the easter weekend with our gym closing an hour earlier than usual on Friday 7th and Monday 10th at 9pm.

Therefore if you train MMA, everyone should attend the 8pm session on Friday which will be Boxing with Conor and the 8pm on Monday which will be Striking with Vad.

The Saturday morning MMA session will be at 8am rather than 7am for this Easter weekend only.

Also, don’t forget Roxy will be standing in for Roxi (yes I know it’s confusing 😂) for this Saturday’s Flexibility class. Roxy will be focusing on back bends, spinal twists and finishing off with some yin yoga stretching.

The gym will be closed on Easter Sunday.

Oss!

Gym life from July 19th

All legal restrictions are being lifted from Monday 19th July, this means we will be able to increase the capacity of classes albeit cautiously.  We are still putting a limit on how many can attend each class and the following procedures will still stay in place for everyone’s safety until further notice:

Every member must book via our TeamUp online booking system

Hand sanitising station will remain on entry, at reception and by toilets for members use before, during and after class

Masks are voluntary in and out of the building

Windows will remain open on all sides of the building for air flow

On top of cleaning the mat we will still spray sanitise all surfaces on a daily basis and fumigate the premises on monthly basis

As social distancing is no longer a legal requirement please do still spread yourselves out and avoid mingling when not necessary.

We will still have the QR track and trace displayed at reception however we do keep our own track and trace records from the booking system

If you feel ill, stay home. If you have a positive Covid test, then you will need to quarantine for 10 days prior to returning to the gym

Stay safe,

Covid Government Announcement 22nd Feb 2021

Hi Team, just a bit of an update regarding the government’s announcement.

There’s still a few unanswered questions from what has been published but here is what the government have said can commence and when:

12th April – Indoor classes for children can commence. Household adults may also train with kids. Adult individual training is permitted e.g. individual circuit training.

17th May – Group indoor classes for adults can resume following Covid indoor risk assessment and social distancing rules

21st June – Regular contact training can commence, risk assessments will apply but expect things back to normal

We’re still waiting for further clarity on the guidance published at which point we will be in contact for a return to training plan and the timetable we can offer.

Thanks,

The Stronger Team

TIER 4 – GYM CLOSURE

The government have put us into tier 4, and the gym will be closed for at least 2 weeks at which point the Government will review the current tier system. Regrettably this has messed up everyone’s Christmas plans and put more strain on our wellbeing. Hang in there and keep strong everybody💪. We will update all members in due course with what to expect over the coming weeks. Thanks.

Tier 3

Dear Members,

As announced yesterday, London will be entering Tier 3 from tomorrow, Wednesday 16th December and although we can remain open we are now not allowed to hold instructor-led group adult classes. So what does this mean?

KIDS TRAINING

All Stronger Kids classes will remain unchanged and continue as normal.

Anyone under 18 years of age will still be allowed to take part in instructor led group classes. We will make contact with all 14 to 17 years old to form a new kids class, if you would like your child to be enrolled then please do get in contact.

ADULT TRAINING

Tier 3 stipulates that instructor led group activity is not permitted indoors. In place of the current classes we will hold open gym sessions following the current timetable so you will still be able to book sessions via TeamUp following social distancing rules to come in and hit bags, do ground work, use our weight equipment, take on one of our HIIT circuits designed by our coaches.

Coaches will be on hand to provide technical advice and support to individuals, declared household bubbles (those that live together) and support bubbles (an individual who lives alone or a single parent who bubbles up with another household).

TIMETABLE

The timetable will be updated overnight.

MEMBERSHIPS

We will continue to take payments as normal, except if you have already frozen your membership, so we can maintain the operational running of the gym. If you are experiencing difficulty or would like to freeze your membership whilst we are in Tier 3 then please do get in contact and we will action requests as soon as possible. Thank you.

HOW LONG WILL WE BE IN TIER 3 FOR?

The Government reviews the tier system every 2 weeks, so the next review will take place on Wednesday 30th December.

On behalf of our coaches and staff, thank you so much for your continued commitment and support to our gym during these difficult times. Let’s hope we can bring in the New Year on a high.
