Stronger Fitness and Martial Arts Safeguarding Policy
1. Introduction & Core Beliefs
At our gym, we believe that the mats should be a sanctuary for personal growth, discipline, and community. We are fully committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and positive training environment where every member—regardless of age, gender, background, or ability—is treated with dignity and respect. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we maintain a zero-tolerance stance toward any form of abuse, harassment, bullying, or discrimination.
2. Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to all members, visitors, coaches, staff, and volunteers at our facility. It covers interactions during classes, open mats, seminars, club events, and digital communications relating to the gym. We align our standards with the national frameworks provided by the United Kingdom Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association (UKBJJA).
3. Expected Codes of Conduct
- For Coaches and Staff: To lead by example, maintaining professional boundaries, offering constructive feedback, and prioritising student safety and well-being above competitive performance.
- For Members and Students: To train with controlled intensity, respect training partners, obey the tap immediately, and respect personal boundaries both on and off the mats.
4. Reporting Procedure
If you experience, witness, or are made aware of any behaviour that breaches our safeguarding standards, please report it immediately. Your concerns will be treated with the utmost seriousness and discretion.
